Hi,does anybody out there know when the under engine fan cuts-in?Does it cut in when the rad fan comes on?(havn't managed to get the engine hot enough yet to cut the fan in)uses the same thermo switch as the rad fan? The same sort of questions for the fan fitted onto the intercooler?? Don't think I have any problems, but am interested to know the ins and outs of my new largo.I have never seen these fans on any other cars/vans I have owned, many thanks to anybody who can shed some light. Thanks Ashley.

hehe, don't worry not after an essay on them, just the basics. Is rather an odd place to fit the intercooler for the turbo tho,not directly in the air flow etc,I guess that is why there is a fan.....would of thought tho because of the extra load of running the fan that  would counter balance the benifits of the cooled air going into the turbo for  little extra power which it could produce.Huh?Ash Smiley

Radiator fan is controlled by ecu via engine temp sensor on thermostat housing the one with two pins! At least on the diesel don't know about the petrol yet! The engine fan is operated by the sensor at the top of the engine cover! if you remove the two pin sensor from the thermostat housing and place it in boiling water the fans should come on! Also on my diesel before it died the engine fan use to come on when after a drive and then sitting on idle for 5-10 mins only ran for 20 secs then off. The radiator fans from memory barely ever came on unless A/C was on then they are operated from a timer so they should go on and off but only if the A/C works and has sufficent fluid in the system!
